GIVEAWAY WINNER!

WOW.  Seriously, I don’t even know where to begin.  Thank you to all 340 of you who stopped by and posted a comment.  I have this tiny blog, mostly written for ourselves as a journal, secondly for our families who live far away so they can see all that we do.  I was expecting maybe 100 or so comments, but 340!!!  Thank you all so much.  So, in addition to the big prize, I will also be drawing two more numbers and giving away additional prizes, similar to the first, just slightly smaller in scale.  Thank you also to the people who have decided to stick around and follow what we are up to around here.

Because I like to savor the moment I am going to draw things out just a bit more and talk about the comments.  I know many of you were trying to get to all 300+ giveaways over the last three days as well as continue with your busy lives.  That you took the time to write such thoughtful statements really touched me.  I read EVERY SINGLE comment.  I started to respond to all of them, but there were so many, I just couldn’t keep up with it and continue to mother, sew, cook, and farm.

Here is what I learned:

• A large number of you were raised on farms, or had close family members who had farms that you visited.
• A few of you live on farms today.
• Many more of you WANT to live on a small hobby farm/homestead.
• A ton of you go to farmer’s market and buy eggs directly from farmers.
• A lot of you garden and even have your own backyard chickens.
• People really love the idea of having goats.
• There are some very happy city girls who love to support local agriculture but wouldn’t want to live without mass transit.
• Everyone hates flies.

Loving the home produced goodies, what a fab giveaway. Have gone from a house with a section to apartment life for a wee while… miss not being able to dig in the garden. Closest for me now is farmers markets, and herbs in pots… What a big change for you and your family!

We love farms, my son is at the age where he can’t pass a tractor without saying wow. Hopefully he’ll learn to say tractor soon as well. I on the other hand cant find any eggs nicer than my local farm. Free range, and living in woods they are the tastiest things ever.
