Heading to Vermont in the morning
Jackson and I are taking a wee bit of a road trip in the AM. We’ve got alarms set for 6:30 and we should be out of the house by 8 o’clock. Google puts the drive (to Newbury, VT) at just under 4 hours. At the other end are our two Dexters, Pansy and Petunia. We’ve procured a two-slot horse trailer from The Trailer Depot in Northford, CT and we should be all set (with our venerable, if a smidge overwhelmed, Chevy Blazer leading the way). For your viewing pleasure, enjoy the screen grab of the map showing the way.

A good place to stretch your legs is Allen Brothers Farm in Westminster, VT – it’s right off of 91 and they have good food and (especially their baked goods!)

Thanks for the idea, but we were all business today so couldn’t afford any stops. Got there in just under 4 hours, took about an hour to load the girls, then maybe 4 1/2 hours back home (I was driving slower). The good news is that they’re in the barn and I’m all set to return the trailer in the morning.
